Jamie A. Becker is a doctoral candidate at Emporia State University (KS), working towards her Ph.D. in Library and Information Management. She also serves as a teacher-librarian at a high school near St. Louis, Missouri. Her research interests focus on community capital in school libraries, self-censorship in school libraries, the evolving role of the school librarian, and the information-seeking process of genealogists related to libraries. Jamie has received several accolades, including Teacher of the Year nominations, membership in Beta Phi Mu Honor Society, and selection for participation in the American Library Association's (ALA) Emerging Leader program.
